Government shutdown blamed for report date reshuffle
WASHINGTON, Oct. 24 () -- The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said Thursday that the next monthly Employment Situation report would be delayed a week due to the government shutdown. The bureau said many of its routine reports had been rescheduled. Perhaps the most influential among them is the Employment Situation report that normally comes out on the first Friday of every month.September's report was due Oct. 4 and was not released until Tuesday, Oct. 22.That would put the report only 11 days ahead of the next scheduled release date, which was Nov. 1, although that has been changed to Nov. 8, the bureau said. The bureau said the U.S. import and export price index due Oct. 10 was released Oct. 23. The Job Opening and Labor Turnover Survey covering September came out Thursday, 16 days late. The preliminary Productivity and Costs report for the third quarter due Nov. 6 will be released Nov. 14. The Employment Cost Index report for the third quarter due Oct. 31 will not come out until Nov. 19, the bureau said.A consumer price index report for October, slated for a release on Nov. 15,michael kors coupon, will be five days late. The Producer Price Index for October is scheduled for a Nov. 21 release, seven days behind schedule, the bureau said.Other schedule changes will be announced later, the bureau said.
