CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 12 () -- Patrick Ewing has reached an agreement with the Charlotte Bobcats to become the NBA team's associate head coach, The Charlotte Observer reports.The newspaper reported Tuesday an informed source confirmed the Hall of Fame center has been hired to be head Coach Steve Clifford's top assistant. Ewing had interviewed for the head coaching job last year.The Observer said Ewing and the Bobcats' management have reached an agreement in principle and an formal announcement is expected this week.Yahoo Sports first reported Ewing's career move Tuesday afternoon.Ewing starred as a player for the New York Knicks.
