Jamison Olave's own-goal allows Portland to earn tie with Red Bulls
PORTLAND, Ore., March 3 () -- New York's Jamison Olave scored an own-goal in the 83rd minute Sunday, allowing the Portland Timbers to escape with a 3-3 draw.The Timbers began a rally from 3-1 deficit in the second half when Darlington Nagbe scored on the rebound off a hard Diego Valeri shot in the 56th minute.They tied it 27 minutes later when substitute Jose Adolfo Valencia launched a shot into the area that bounded off Olave and into the net for the equalizer.Valeri also netted a first-half tally for the Timbers (0-0-1) in their first game under new head Coach Caleb Porter.Fabian Espindola scored twice and Olave also found the net in the first half for the Red Bulls (0-0-1), who settled for a tie in their initial contest under the own new mentor, Mike Petke.
