Quinn daughters at new blow to family
The development is a setback for the family which has taken legal action on the matter,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], claiming that a share receiver should never have been appointed in the first place.
Documents have been filed in the Company Registration Office showing the Quinn Group Limited has been wound up by the receiver Kieran Wallace of KPMG,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
However in a statement jointly signed by Sean Quinn's adult daughters Colette (36),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Ciara (35), Aoife (30) and Brenda (25),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they said that they were "truly shocked and outraged at this action".
They said: "It is truly devastating that the company our father spent a lifetime building in the local area has been divided up and distributed like spare parts,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
"The company has been given away to foreign banks by Anglo who have no allegiance whatsoever to the local economy, its future growth and sustainability.
"This unnecessary liquidation compounds the wrongs perpetrated by Anglo,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]."
The women said that the actions were "horrific in circumstances where the very legality of the takeover of our companies is currently awaiting determination before the High Court,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]."
The Quinn Group Limited had been used as a vehicle to hold companies engaged in packaging, glass, radiators and building materials.
But it is currently a shell company and the manufacturing companies are owned by IBRC and a consortium of banks.
"The Quinn Group Limited,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the former holding company of the Quinn Group,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], entered into a members' voluntary liquidation on 24 July 2012," a statement from the group said.
It said that after the restructuring of the group,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a new legally ringfenced entity called Quinn Group Holdco Limited was created to hold the manufacturing businesses.
