BBC announces Matt Smith's departure from 'Doctor Who'
LONDON, June 2 () -- Matt Smith, the star of the BBC's "Doctor Who," will be leaving his role at the end of this year, the network announced.Smith, who joined the cast in 2010 as the show's 11th Time Lord, will make his final appearance in the 2013 Christmas special, the BBC said."It's been an honor to play this part, to follow the legacy of brilliant actors, and helm the Tardis for a spell with 'the ginger, the nose and the impossible one.'
