Ducks agree recruiting violations occurred, will seek self-probation
EUGENE, Ore., April 16 () -- The University of Oregon says it has agreed the Ducks' football coaches committed at least one major violation in recruiting players between 2008 and 2011.As punishment, the school has proposed to the NCAA that the football program impose a two-year probation on itself and lose one scholarship for each of the next three seasons, christian louboutin men, The (Portland) Oregonian reported Monday. However, the school and the NCAA still had not resolved the severity of a violation involving the school's payment of $25,000 to talent scout Willie Lyles for prohibited "oral reports" to the team.University officials contend the reports constitute a secondary violation, while NCAA officials have termed them another "major violation."Team officials will appear before the NCAA committee on infractions sometime this year, gucci bags outlet, at which time the committee will make a final ruling on the violations and penalties. The university released 515 pages of documents concerning the infractions Monday. In a summary accompanying the documents, Athletics Director Rob Mullens agreed "this case is major in nature."In a separate statement, the university said "The integrity of the process and our continued full cooperation with the NCAA prohibits us from publicly discussing the specifics of the matter."Oregon came under scrutiny in March 2011.
